Equipment, comfort and getting in
Questions the clinic answers
When should my child have their first dental visit?
Usually by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth erupting. Early visits help establish healthy oral habits and allow the dentist to monitor your child's dental development from the start.
How can I prevent cavities in my child's teeth?
Good oral hygiene, limiting sugary and sticky snacks and drinks, regular dental check-ups, and assessing your child's airway are all key steps to preventing cavities in children.
When should I start brushing my child's teeth, and how much toothpaste should I use?
Start brushing as soon as the first tooth appears. Use a rice-sized amount of remineralising toothpaste for children under 3, and a pea-sized amount for children aged 3 to 6.
Does my child need dental X-rays, and are they safe?
Yes, if necessary for diagnosis. Modern digital X-rays use 80% less radiation than traditional X-rays and are very safe for children. Our team at JuniorDental Dubai only recommends X-rays when clinically needed.
Will my child need braces?
It depends on your child's growth and tooth alignment. Early evaluations and interceptive orthodontics — available at JuniorDental — can help plan treatment and sometimes prevent the need for full braces later.
What is interceptive orthodontics for children?
Interceptive orthodontics is an early, preventive approach used between ages 6 and 12 to diagnose and treat bite and alignment issues before they become more serious. It can use expanders, aligners, or other appliances to guide jaw growth while the child is still developing.
Does JuniorDental offer sedation for children who are anxious about dentistry?
Yes. We offer nitrous oxide (happy gas / laughing gas) sedation to help anxious children go through dental treatment comfortably. For more complex cases, we also provide full dental treatment under general anaesthesia.
What are JuniorDental's opening hours?
JuniorDental is open 7 days a week, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. You can book an appointment by calling 800 1211 or via WhatsApp on +971 58 570 1255.
